Just about all of us could stand to be in better
shape. With the crappy foods we tend to eat (stuff that is
really more chemicals than food) and our sedentary lifestyles
its nor surprise that so many people today are fat, exhausted,
and on more meds than ever.
Getting in shape doesn't have to be an endless
chore where you're spending hours upon hours at the gym each
day. In fact, many experts only recommend workouts of
about 45 minutes - not those two hour marathon workouts you may
think you need to do if you want to get in shape.
Let's talk about some programs that will help
you reach your fitness goals, and since not everybody wants the
same things, there is no one size fits all recommendation.
One thing I will say, however, is that pretty
much everyone could benefit from weight training. Guys, I
know you're probably with me, but ladies, this means you too.
You're not going to build bulky muscles just by lifting weights
(if only it were that easy) so you should be adding weight
training to your workouts as well.
First up is one of my favorite programs -
Burn the Fat,
Feed the Muscle. I've personally benefited a lot from
this program not only from a fitness point of view but also
generally how I eat. I think this program tackles one of
the most often overlooked details in getting in shape - that
whole motivation thing. It really helps you identify why
you want to get in shape and what kind of fitness regimen you
can stick with.
Another one that I've become a big fan of is
called
Turbulence Training. When it comes to getting in shape
fast, this is a great one. It won't have you running on a
treadmill for hours on end - in fact it's all what's called High
Intensity Interval Training, and if you've never tried these
workouts - oh boy. They're a challenge, but they're short,
and wow do you see results fast.
And for those of you who truly are looking to
bulk up a bit (remember, this isn't easy and requires more than
just weight lifting) then take a look at
No Nonsense
Muscle Building. It's one of the most popular guides
to bulking up without dangerous steroids because the
straightforward approach taken in the book actually works.
Last up is for you guys out there who are
lusting over a set of washboard abs (probably because the ladies
go ga-ga over them). Before I give you any specific
recommendations I want to explain how getting six pack abs work.
This isn't a function of just doing a whole bunch of situps and
then going back home to the couch and watching TV with a pizza.
Getting a six pack is more about losing body fat than it is
about building muscle, but there are plenty of workouts that
will help accelerate your progress. With that said, the
program I'm recommending you look at is
The Truth
About Six Pack Abs. It's a little less hypey and more
truthful than a lot of other scams you see out there. But
the reason I recommend it is that for those willing to put in
the time and make the commitment, it works.
